1. Who provides the service
BeCaptain Studio ("we", "our") operates Lyron: the desktop app for macOS, the lyronapp.com website, and the api.lyronapp.com API. By using it, you agree to these terms.
2. What Lyron is
Lyron is a live translation app for Mac. It captures audio and on-screen text, transcribes with local Whisper, translates with a local model (Free) or Lyron Cloud (Pro), and shows the result in a glass window that floats over your other apps.
It runs only on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer), on a recent macOS. Intel Macs are not supported. Windows is on the roadmap.
3. Account and license
Free needs no account. Pro needs an email to receive the magic link for activation. When you activate, we generate a license key stored in your macOS Keychain, which authenticates the app against our backend.
You're responsible for keeping access to the email you signed up with. One license covers all the Macs on the same account (reasonable personal use; this isn't a multi-user corporate license).
4. Payment and renewal
Pro comes in two flavors:
- Monthly: $8.99/month (R$ 29,90 · €8,49), renewing automatically each month.
- Yearly: $59/year (R$ 199/year · €55/year), renewing automatically each year. Roughly 45% savings vs. monthly.
Payment is processed by Stripe. The currency is detected from your card's country. It renews automatically until you cancel, and Stripe emails you the receipt.
5. Cancellation
Cancel anytime:
- In the app, under Settings → Account → Manage subscription.
- Or straight from the Stripe Customer Portal (link in your welcome email).
Canceling isn't a refund: you keep Pro access until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing is charged after that. No questions, no retention call.

Why 7 days and not 30: real-time translation is judged in hours, not weeks. If the first week didn't win you over, another 23 days won't either, and clear rules keep abuse out.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Lyron for illegal activity (including infringing someone else's copyright).
- Reverse-engineer it to bypass the license, or abuse the Free tier as if it were Pro.
- Overload our API with abnormal volume (scripts, scraping).
- Resell Lyron Cloud as a service to third parties.
Behavior that breaks these rules can lead to the license being suspended with no pro-rated refund.
8. Intellectual property
Lyron (code, design, brand, logos, copy) belongs to BeCaptain Studio. The content you translate stays yours. We claim nothing of what passes through translation.
Trademarks we mention (Zoom, Meet, Teams, Stripe, etc.) belong to their respective owners and are named only for compatibility.
9. Limitation of liability
Lyron is automated translation software. Translations can have errors, especially in technical, legal, or medical contexts. Don't blindly trust a Lyron translation for critical decisions. Use it as an aid, not as an authoritative source.
BeCaptain Studio's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the last 12 months, except where applicable law doesn't allow such a limitation.
10. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may add features, adjust prices, or discontinue functionality. Changes that affect you as an active Pro subscriber are announced by email 30 days in advance, and you're entitled to cancel with a pro-rated refund if you disagree.
Changes to these terms follow the same standard: email notice, 30 days ahead.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, BeCaptain Studio's legal home. Disputes, when they can't be avoided, are settled in the courts of São Paulo/SP, except where your country of residence grants you a local consumer-protection venue (EU, UK), which applies where relevant.
